Which BSE-30 (Sensex) Companies are Performing in the Last 5 Years?

The Sensex is growing with a CAGR of 8% for the last 5 years from 2016 to the current FY 2020. The Sensex has shown a negative growth of 11% in the year 2016 and has grown by 18%, 11%, and 17% in the years 2017,18, and 19 respectively. And it has shown a negative growth of 3% in the current FY 2020. The following table shows an interesting trend of the BSE-30 shares:

The above table shows that in the current FY 2020 only 4 (four) Sensex stocks have given more than 10% growth. And 8 (eight) stocks have shown less than 10% growth. And 18 (eighteen) stocks have shown a negative growth. Now since only two quarters of the year are left, it would be a great challenge for the Sensex to show a positive return of more than 12% for the current FY 2020. As of now, the best performing Sensex stocks in FY 2020 are: Asian Paints (16%), Bajaj Finance (30%), Hindustan Unilever (15%), and Kotak Bank (17%).

The best stock out of all the 30 stocks is Bajaj Finance, which is growing at a CAGR of 42% for the last 5 (five) years from FY 2016 to FY 2020. Well, all this is as on 7th October, 2019 and the position may change as we move forward in the FY 2020.
